01Core Requirements to Access Fuliza
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Registered M-Pesa account | Using a Kenyan national ID, Kenyan passport, or military ID |
| Account age | Generally at least 6 months of active M-Pesa usage |
| CRB status | No unresolved negative credit listings (check with *433#) |
| Active Safaricom line | Line must be active and topped up, not dormant |
| Opted in to Fuliza | Activated via *334# → Loans & Savings → Fuliza |
02What Affects Your Actual Limit Amount
Meeting the requirements above makes you eligible for Fuliza, but the size of your limit is a separate calculation based on your ongoing behaviour:
📈
M-Pesa transaction frequencyRegular sending, paying, and buying goods activity strengthens your profile.
✅
Fuliza repayment historyTimely repayment is consistently cited as the single biggest factor in limit growth.
💳
Savings behaviourConsistent saving without frequent withdrawal (including M-Shwari/KCB M-Pesa) signals stability.
📞
Use of other Safaricom servicesVoice, data, and airtime usage feed into the same overall activity profile.
03Accepted ID Types
- Kenyan national ID — the most common route to Fuliza eligibility.
- Kenyan passport — accepted for M-Pesa lines registered this way.
- Military ID — accepted for serving members of the armed forces.
⚠️M-Pesa lines registered with a foreign passport are not currently eligible to opt in to Fuliza.
04Activation Doesn't Guarantee a Limit
It's possible to successfully opt in to Fuliza and still be assigned a limit of KES 0 initially, especially for newer M-Pesa lines. This isn't an error — it reflects Safaricom's ongoing, automatic review process, which typically re-evaluates every few months based on updated activity.
